In ancient time, a large number of southward migration population from the north settled in Fujian, population migration activities strongly promoted the development of Fujian during the process, which has had a profound impact to social, economic and cultural development in Fujian province. Development of Fujian immigrants has its unique advantages, mainly for geographical location away from the Centre of Central Government rule, and superior natural factors such as environment, abundant resources, and the development of agricultural productivity brought about the enhance of bearing capacity of population and immigration political influence and other social factors. Through the process of exploring the development of Fujian migration space, finding that historical development pattern of Fujian immigrants on form has gone through four stages:initial development stage before the Tang dynasty; Tang, five dynasties and the comprehensive and large-scale development phase; Among the advanced parts of the country column as well as in Song and Yuan and Ming and Qing dynasties-the end stages of development. In overall development direction Fujian has formed its specific laws, namely immigration development took on a development track was similar to the ellipse, formed a development model from the inland to the coastal and to inland in the end, and experienced the changes from along the River Valley to the slopes, the end to Mesa. In addition, the development of Fujian immigrants also showed point-axis development mode. Ancient Fujian immigrants-development activities also have far-reaching effects on social, economic, and cultural aspects of development. Main performance in economic development for a large number of reclamation of unused land, inputs, application and development of advanced agricultural technology, advancement of handicrafts and accompanying commercial and urban development and prosperity; Main performance in social and cultural department for the forming of Fujian sub-nation, dialect, family systems and religious propagation, and eventually formed a unified regional pattern of immigrant culture.
