Study Of Contemporary College Students' Filial Piety, Cultivating

The filial piety is the basis and core of family virtues and it is the traditional virtue of Chinese nation. The filial piety has been given new connotations at the present times. Besides having higher theoretical knowledge level and superior professional level, university students should have better moral cultivation, since university students are builders and successors in the future. Because university students will face more family responsibilities and social responsibilities in the future, the filial piety should become the necessary virtue of university students. But some university students are lack of filial piety in some extent."The Opinion on Further Strengthening and Improving University Students’ Ideological and Political Education" issued by The State Council of the People’s Republic of China states:based on moral regulations, conduct citizen moral education, to guide university students to abide by basic moral regulations, including patriotic and law-abiding, trust and sincerity, unity and friendship, industrious and thrifty, dedication to the undertakings. In order to improve university students’ ideological and moral cultivation, the basic filial piety should be advocated.In order to cultivate university students’ filial piety effectively, we need the resultant force coming from school, family and society. We also need to inherit and innovate the content of filial piety cultivation, follow the scientific principles of university students" filial piety cultivation, explore the methods of university students’ filial piety cultivation, and make full use of various ways of filial piety cultivation. On the basis of predecessors" achievements and through the questionnaire survey, this paper discusses the filial piety cultivation of contemporary university students in view of theory and practice, in order to put forward some advices to the practice of university students’ filial piety cultivation.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, there are four parts in this paper. In the first part of this paper, we give filial piety connotations and elaborate the significance of the filial piety cultivation of contemporary university students. In the second part, we discuss the psychological development process of filial piety, and influencing conditions. In the third part, we use the method of questionnaire, examine the current situation of contemporary university students’ filial piety, point out positive performance and existing problems about filial piety and analyze the reason why university students have these problems, especially in the aspect of students themselves, family, college and society. In part four, we propose countermeasures about the filial piety cultivation of contemporary university students, especially in the aspect of content, the principle, method and the way.
