This paper intends to study the social values through the survey of college students’ vocational evaluation and choice. The integrated use of qualitative and quantitative methods are employed to analyse factors considered in the process of vocational evaluation and choice and distinguishing features. The relationship between vocational evaluation and choice is studied. Based on the systematic review of the literature and research results we propose the new theory structure. On the whole, economic returns gradually becomes the most important factor in social values. The more social resources the positon holds, especially scarce resources, the higher social status is. So how much social resources the posion occupies is an important indicator when we measure social status. The main research results are as followed,Firstly, social values have a big impact on vocational evaluation and social values vary directly proportional to vocational evaluation.Secondly, in recent decades the colledge students’ values about vocational evaluation has become stable. They has payed more attention on actual gains, economic return, developing prospect. Vocational evaluation can reflect social values’orientation. The job which is more inclined to be choosed is always on high status in social values.Thirdly, vocational evaluation vary proportional to vocational choice but this relationship is not marked.Fourthly, sophomore year is the turning point in the development of Value. Students will focus more on power, knowledge skills, and their values become more realistic.Fifthly, women think highly of power and knowledge skills compared with men.Sixthly, students from rural areas regard power, economic return, knowledge and physical force highly compared with students from city.Seventhly, the father’s occupational status has an influence on the formation of Value. Because of the differnce of father’s job, family environment, life style even children’s value formation can make big difference.
