In the Chinese society of differential pattern, people’s lives are surrounded by different kinds of blood, family and human network. The gift exchange gradually becomes to an important tool for people to create and maintain social relations. The connection created by the inalienable gifts is actually an invisible interdependency relationship. People enhance the relationship with others by goods, and create and maintain the mutually beneficial exchange system through the gift exchange. The obligations formed in the long-term social exchange promote the transfer and reproduction of resources. The binary opposition boundaries of gifts and goods become more and more blurred with the social transformation and development of market economy, so the people’s communication and interaction tends to be more utilitarian. In present, the problem of parents give gifts to teachers is more and more apparent with the purpose of utilitarian, and our society has extensively paid attention to this phenomenon. In the current exam-oriented education, with the pursuit of elite school and high scores, the unbalanced allocation of educational resources, teachers play a dominant roles in the allocation of these resources, and people’s living standard improve with the development of society and economics, usually there is only one child in every family, so the parents put more energy and material resources used in the training their children, these reasons promote the competition of this gift relationship.In this article, we choose the primary and middle school teachers and parents as the object of study, the social exchange as the angel of view; we study the purpose, the reciprocity principle and the way rewards of the exchange between the primary and middle school teachers and parents. And we seek the dialectical understanding of the gift relationship in the logical operation in practice. We describe the rationalization process of their gift relationship through the questionnaires, interviews and analysis methods of process events. From the perspectives of thanksgiving episode, face and non-balanced reciprocity, we analysis the cause of behavior of gift relationship from the three of the aspects of society, parents and teachers. We distinguish the difference of gift exchanges between the respecting and gift giving by using the Expressive gift relationship and Instrumental gift relationship. And we analysis the different natures and roles which are expressed by gifts from the value concept of respecting to the non-equilibrium reciprocity which appears in the process of gift asymmetric flows.So in this paper, we analysis the advantages and disadvantages and the causes of the behavior of gift relationship between the primary and middle school teachers and parents, objectively and dialectically view this relationship, then we put forward some management policies.
