Gift exchange has always been a hot topic in the sociology and humanics. The currentreseaches almost focus on the primitive tribe and the backward economy areas which aredifferent from modern society. At that time the gift reseach were concentrated in gift itself, solving the problem"how to send a return gift"which maintain, enforce and create kinds ofcooperative, competitive or hostile social connection. China is a country whose social justiceis ethical ones and relationship. Long time ago the gift exchange cuture has existed in China, especially in the marriage. With the development of the society, the modern factor haspenetrated into each part of the society. As the market economy growing ,the rural areas afterthe reform and open policy have been chaging not only in modernisation but alsoindustrialization. The gift exchange in the marriage manners has changed a lot which causedthe network changes between the villagers. In the forties of 20th century, the theory of"Differential mode of association"explained the features of social relationship network in therural area. With the changing of the society and the impact of the modernization, this theoryhas alienated and evolved. In the following thesis I demonstrate the"Differential mode ofassociation"theory still apply to the social relationship net in the rural area, tring to use theapproach of the sociology, though the analysis of the gift exchange and form in the ruralwedding. But I put some new bloods which are called marriage relationship. Because theblood relationship are getting into the"Differential mode of association", the range of socialrelationship included by the"Differential mode of association"becomes wider.
