In the period of the women who were lack of education opportunities, with huge radiation the woman textbooks in Late Qing and Early Republican China take the responsibility of spread the knowledge and enlightenment the important thoughts. As an unique type, Woman textbooks were special design for the female ethnic, which appeared in the late Qing dynasty, With spread of the education democratization, and faded out from the stage of history in early the republic of China. This kind of textbooks were extremely full of gender color,it not only affect the era of women’s education but also reflected the Role Definition and expectation to women in development, organization and material selection. This study take the late Qing dynasty woman textbooks as research object text, and with women’s enlightenment and role definition as analysis clues, in order to analysis the origin and evolution course of the late Qing dynasty woman textbooks in text content level analysisThis article consists of four sections.The first chapter is Introduction. This part gives an account of the origin of the research and centers on the definition of concepts. It analyzes and sums up the research at home and abroad about he late Qing dynasty woman textbooks and textbooks gender study. Positioning for defining the keywords of Late Qing and Early Republican China, women textbook, enlightenment and Role Definition, make a clear definition of the research scope.The second chapter is about background research of the women textbooks. In the year of Late Qing and Early Republican China, there were five important trends of women’s education thought which had important influence on women’s cultivating talents and education, and these education idea and the intention of the women’s textbook reflected continuously the content selection and development of purpose. The end of the traditional female learning, the rise of modern women education, the opening of women’s school, the provisions of the education system, all of these called for new women textbooks and the textbook aroused at the historic moment.The third chapter Introduces the development of women textbook in Late Qing and Early Republican China of its origin and evolution process, which is the core part of the thesis. Women textbooks had been through three periods as Initiatition(1840-1906), Expansion(1907-1911), Prosperity(1912—1922). After a large number of data search and text research this article Introduces the publishing situation of women textbook, at the same time, it had comments on different versions in longitudinal and transverse.To analyze the publishing copy, content and character of women textbook In the original text content starting point, we can survey the true face.The fourth chapter discusses how the enlightenment significance of the textbook woman has impact in the modern textbooks. This part traces the paths of changes from micro-perspective to analyze the text, then we can see the history of change and influence, it also can true appeal the modern ethics spirit text women of the training embodiment in woman textbooks. From the basis of analysis of characteristics about women textbooks enlightenment, we can see its advantages and limitations. How to build awareness of gender equality and role definition, take example by women textbooks, we can get abundant opinions and suggestions. Finally, the article puts forward to some suggestions of revising rules concerning the primary and secondary school textbooks gender equality education evaluation.
