The Current Status Of Farmer’s Ideological And Political And Its Countermeasures

The farmers’ problem is the fundamental problem in the socialist modernization andreform. The Chinese farmers, with a population of more than600million, are the main forceto promote national economic and social development and to realize agriculturalmodernization in China. To achieve China’s modernization and build a moderately prosperoussociety, the priorities and difficulties is in rural areas; the core and key is farmers.“TheDecision of the CPC Central Committee on Further Strengthening the Agriculture and RuralWork” pointed out that “Farmers and rural issue has always been the fundamental problem ofChinese revolution and construction. There could be no stability and all-round progress ofsociety as a whole without the rural stability and all-round progress; no national well-off,without the well-off of farmers; no modernization of the whole national economy without theagricultural modernization.” The Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixteenth CPC CentralCommittee, in accordance with the requirements of “development of production, affluent life,civilization, clean and tidy village and democratic management ", promote the rural economy,politics, culture, society and the party’s construction comprehensively. Under the currentcircumstances, enhancing the farmers’ ideological and political awareness, guiding themasses of farmers to strengthen ideological and political ideas, and improving the quality ofscience and culture in the course of economic development is of special significance forbuilding a new socialist rural construction, for the maintenance of China’s social reform,development and the stability of the overall situation and building a harmonious society ofsocialism with Chinese characteristics.This thesis mainly consists of the following aspects: the first chapter, introduction,introduces the basic content from the aspect of research background, significance, methods,structure and possible innovations. The second chapter presents the important value offarmers’ ideological and political work, elaborating the importance of farmers’ ideological andpolitical work in the economic, political, cultural, and farmers’ comprehensive development. The third chapters reported the survey on the surrounding rural areas in Fuyang City,analyzed the current farmers’ ideological and political situation and its causes. Chapter fourproposed the suggestions for strengthening ideological and political work of farmers.
