Year2011is the first beginning year of the12th five-year plan period of China. During the periods of the10th five-year plan and the11th five-year plan, Chinese education science research has been developing rapidly and opened up a new and prosperous situation in the new century. As the most urgent problems related to education which need to be solved in China, more than4,000projects established during the10th and11th five-year plan periods. Those projects not only have some common features of continuity, but also show some certain changing characteristics and trends with the development of Chinese society.The research is based on the education science researching projects established in the10th and1lth five-year plan period and all the related documents such as Planning Outline and Project Guideline published by the government and ministry of education. In every five-year period some new projects came into the researchers’perspectives and some former projects got promotions as well. Even though the annual education year book and the education developing report conclude the characteristics and trends of every year, most theses are inclined to theory. Until now we do not have a very clear and direct-viewing picture to show how the education research develops in these two five years.Under the directions of the National Education Development Planning Outline and the Year Project Guidelines, the attention rate of all the researching areas and directions in the1st10years in the new century, the characteristics and trends reflected from the researching approaches and distribution of geographic locations of the project executors are all the major researching contents of this thesis. In addition, according to the basic objectives and the overall requirements of the education science research in the five-year Planning Outline, this thesis will try to find out whether those thousands of established projects in10th and11th five-year plan periods have helped to solve the major or very important problems positively during the course of education development and revolution and whether the achievements of those projects are valuable and useful as well.This research will take advantage of the moment to formulate the12th five-year plan and will choose certain standard of classification to set up a framework of category to classify all the established projects since2001. Through the analysis of the project researching contents, diagrams and data, the research will reflect the characteristics and status of recent education science projects directly. Meanwhile it will try to discover the rules and trends by year-to-year comparison especially focusing on the performance of the national major projects, analyzing their project contents, research approaches, performance, practical process, outcomes and effects. This research is going to dig out the features and trends emerging from those projects and will provide a direct-viewing image and reference to the researching status and trends of those projects in order to show the clear and precise picture of the developing trend of Chinese education science.
