During a very long period of time, History seems to be an inessential course for the majority of secondary school students. They may listen to you without thinking, or do other things. A lot of surveys also show that most of the students in History class seem not to be really interested in it. Then, how can we make History so attractive that the students may have a higher cognitive level such as understanding, empathizing or communicating on the basis of listending to it. At this moment, the success of "100forum" inspired me. It made me revisit the value of introducing the historical story in history teaching.So this paper will choose "historical story" as the incision. Select and analyze successful teaching cases and experience from both domestic and foreign cases. Sum up its inspirations to high school History teaching. Next, I will do a prospective thinking of the relative theory, exploring the principals that can be used when applying the historical story from different aspects such as Practice and Comparison, Content and Features. Function and Target. Psychology and Science and so on. Then according to different points of view, I will make an all-around classification of historical story. After that, I will do a further research on how to construct several historical stories and how to use them to improve students’ ability of historical thinking on the basis of practical teaching and cases collection. Finally, I will show you how to apply different historical stories, different methods of description and different forms to construct a complete History course which can meet the needs of different levels and different requirements of the study through two teaching cases.I hope that "historical story" can make the students not only listen and understand history, but can also have the ability to empathize it and communicate with it.
