In June2008, Mr. Zhou Yongkang pointed out in the Central Committee Seminar that the crime rate of released prisoners should be taken as the prime measure to gauge the regulatory work. Thus the operation of the "prime measure" has become of pivotal importance. As the corrections of convicts have been gradually turning into the social spot, a variety of fields are engaging with the study of correction work, of which the physical education has a considerable impactRecent research has proved that prisoners more or less have some psychological issues. One of the reasons behind this is that most of the measures that conducted in correction work are normally traditional, including cultural, legal and technical educations; while the physical education, which has been experimentally claimed as being useful for human’s psychological health, has been rarely studied. Thus, this paper has systematically analyzed the state quo of prisoners’physical education through a number of methodologies including interview and questionnaire. It found that although the physical training in prisons are rare and dull, most of convicts are positive towards it and are looking forward to more organized sports inside prisons. This paper has also done intervention trial upon physical trainings’impact, in which all the subjects have gone through a90-minute-each and eight-week-in total intervention without interrupting their normal life in prisons. This trial has showed that the physical education among prisoners is good at improving their physical and psychological health, developing their relations, as well as helping their regulate behaviors. Therefore, this paper concludes that physical educations in prisons, especially the well-organized the normalized ones, should be effectively used in prisoners’correction work.
