Stage of basic education is to strengthen the foundation stage of the youth civic education. With the social development and the acceleration of globalization, every country focuses on developing students’civic awareness education through a variety of ways to be achieved. The paper aims to build a civic education practice mode in community, in accordance with the line of thought "theory foundation-problem analysis-educational experiment-mode construction-prospect of the future". Through the questionnaire survey, the author found that the problems in terms of pupils’civic awareness were reflected in the following aspects:low performance in the sense of participation, poor awareness of social supervision, lack of awareness of the Governor Legislation and so on. Through depth interviews and educational observation, the author summed up that the ignorance of the educational concept, the deviation of the content, the single way of implementation, and the insufficient use of resources are the main reasons for the problems mentioned above. Civic education practice mode in community was constructed on the basis of educational intervention, in the implementation of educational intervention in practice. One year later, the author conducted a survey of pretest and posttest, through the data analysis, the author found the civic awareness of the subjects improved significantly and initial success of the implementation of community practice patterns achieved. Nevertheless, the author also found some problems in the implementation process, such as lack of support of relevant departments; the lack of experimental atmosphere; lack of time to protect; the lack of scientific evaluation; lack of proper guidance. Therefore, the author proposed to increase social sector participation in expanding the scope of the educational experiment, practice activities into courses, form a reasonable assessment mechanism, and set up a research and teaching team under the correct guidance of the civic education, and educational measures with practical value.The thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter one introduces the background and significance of the study, defines the connotation of the concept of civic education, and illustrates the theoretical basis of the mode of civic education community as well as civic education on the basis of the present research data. It declares the basic idea of the civic education and community practice patterns and approach. The Second chapter is the analysis of the pupils’civic awareness. Through the questionnaires and interviews, the author analyzed the problems existing in the citizen awareness of pupils. Chapter Three explores the practical mode of civic education in community. The author summarizes the implementation strategies for community practice patterns, and describes the community practice implementation steps. The experimental results are also summarized. Chapter Four concludes the problems and proposes some implications. The author sums up the problems and challenges existing in the process of building the practice mode in community. Finally, the vision of civic education in schools is put forward as well.
