| In the new round of reform of primary education curricula, the reform of physical education curriculum has been pushed on steadily. The new "Guidelines of Physical Education Curriculum in Colleges and Universities" reflects the guiding thought that health of students should be given the first priority in school education, stresses that students are the center of the P.E. teaching, which is aimed to improve the students’physical condition. P.E. electives are popular with college students because they can meet the students’physical and mental needs and therefore, the teaching mode of elective courses is widely adopted in colleges and advanced vocational schools. Firstly, it reflects the idea that students are the center of the teaching and stimulates their interests. Secondly, it can also create a pleasant environment for teaching and learning, integrating them harmoniously. Thirdly, it helps students to master a few specialized sports skills and to set up the awareness of working out, which will benefit them throughout their lives.In the thesis, based on the primary theories of education, psychology, statistics, sports science, applying questionnaire survey method, mathematical statistics method, literature data method, expert interviews, after surveying many leaders of the P.E. Departments in some advanced vocational schools, P.E. teachers who give P.E. electives and also the students who have P.E. electives, the author analyzes and discusses the current teaching condition and environment, evaluations on teaching and learning and give some specific advice for further development of P.E. electives in the hope of improving the education quality in Inner Mongolia Region. |
