Through the investigation on the background, actuality and the development of the undergraduate education domestic and abroad, to meet the demand for professional based on the development of socialist market economy and horticulture industry, this paper provided great effort to promote the education research based on professional cultivation, leading by the course constructing with the breakthrough of construction in famous and characteristic specialty, as well as improved the education strength and quality started by control of the establishment of talent cultivation project to teaching, with the development in specialty and teaching by research and teaching reform. To comply socialist market economy in the21st with horticulture talent, aiming at cultivating them to specialization in application and compositeness with solid foundation, wide vision, good capacity and high quality as well as strong adaptability and specialty, an effective talent cultivation and guarantee system needed to be established including processing scientifically reasonable talent cultivation project and the course system, facilitating the construction in teachers and teaching quality, innovating in teaching content and methods, improving on practice teaching system, designing new mode in horticulture talent classified education, setting up impactful mechanism on education management, etc. The new project maked some breakthroughs in education for all-around development and creativity, classification and practical ability. There was a great improvement in comprehension strength and professional teaching condition, including specialty experiment condition, base constructing internal and external, professor quality and course’s reform. The new talent cultivation project had succeeded in the students’comprehension development and the student cultivation quality.
