Comparing with China Mainland, Taiwan set out early in learning the education of mathematics from the Western developed countries, and carried it out well. Because of the history and realism, there is a big gap between China Mainland and Taiwan, but meanwhile it is very impossible to combine with each other for them. So it is a way to know about the advanced theory of mathematics education by Taiwan. Via the comparison on the function content of Mathematics textbook for Senior Middle School between China Mainland and Taiwan, we can pry about the mathematics education notion of Taiwan, and it can also provide some usful information for the undergoing mathematics curriculum reform of China Mainland.Firstly, this study pays attention to the curriculum criterion, analyzes the same items which are included by them, such as curriculum objective, content standard and so on. Then the author makes scientific researches on the comparison of the function content in the aspect of textbook, there are three research methods used in this process, they are literature, content analysis and contrast.According to the study result, it suggests:(1) The mathematics textbook for senior middle school of Taiwan adopts the design idea of screw, and does a lot of try, such as the introduction of complex number, arithmetical number line, geometric number line and so on.(2) The example and exercise that The mathematics textbook for senior middle school of Taiwan chooses is correlative with the realism and the other subjects, and the exercise is organized in term of "concept+basic+selected" mode.(3) On the presenting of concept, The mathematics textbook for senior middle school of Taiwan has many means, but it is weaker in the preciseness than the textbook of China Mainland.(4) The textbook of China Mainland is more difficult than that of Taiwan.Finally, the author give five suggestions to the writer of textbook in China Mainland:(1) Mastering the main venation, construct clear mathematics concept;(2) Pay attention to the link of different knowledge, instruct student the way to learn;(3) Design in screw, in accord with the cognitive developing of student;(4) Number together with figure, express the connotation of way-out thinking:(5) Emphasize the application of mathematics, show the essential character of mathematics.
