《The full-time compulsory education geography course standard》(2001) proposed a" change geographic study way "of the curriculum, the advocate the study method of the independent, the aim is to respect the student main body status, wake up students’potential, arouse their active learning and the cooperation spirit, promoting students’self development. In order to further implement the class changes idea, practical change students’geographic study way, in recent years Yanbian area to develop autonomous learning mode, in the junior middle school in geography widely to try and promotion, however, any kind of teaching theory will not be exactly all of their own teaching practice, should combine their own teaching practice in yanbian area, have a purpose, science to develop the autonomous learning. Therefore, it is necessary to the current autonomous learning in yanbian area of the investigation research, review in yanbian area in developing the geographic autonomous learning the problems and the main influence factors, not only for high school in yanbian area of effective geographic autonomous learning provide reference, and for junior high school geography teacher further improvement of the teaching reference.This paper mainly adopts literature data method, questionnaire survey method, education statistics, in yanbian area eight counties in the town of42middle school1972eighth grade student as the research object, by self-made questionnaire "junior high school students’autonomous learning geographical survey of the data and analysis, a study in junior high school students in yanbian area geographical autonomous learning ability, and the overall situation of students’autonomous learning ability condition as well as the exterior factors condition; And to be tried in different geographical autonomous learning ability and the difference analysis and external factors of correlation analysis and regression analysis, in order to find problems and based on the differences between understand its causes and puts forward related Suggestions. Survey results show that:(1) The junior middle school students in yanbian area geographical autonomous learning general situation in general:external factors play a certain role in promoting, but students’autonomous learning ability still need to further strengthen;(2) Different gender, nationality, source of students, the family has been tried in autonomous learning ability in general does not exist significant differences in different grades were tried in autonomous learning ability seven dimensions are significantly difference, performance for geographical autonomous learning ability are positively related to their geographical performance, that is, the stronger the geographical autonomous learning ability, the higher the geographical scores;(3) Students’autonomous learning ability and geographical external factors are in the0.01level showed significant correlation, according to the degree of related in order:teaching material factors-peers factors-teachers factors-family factors;(4) The external factors in the regression equation can joint prediction of students’ autonomous learning ability59.6%of the variance of including teaching materials factors, equals factors predictive power is stronger.In the survey results based on analysis and interview, the paper the conclusions are as follows:the from junior middle school students in yanbian area geographical of autonomous learning situation general students’autonomous learning ability, improve is the problem to be solved, including learning content and way to learn is the main problems, and the teaching material content and organizational improvement and peers groups the effective use of positive effect will be to improve the students’ability of autonomous learning effective way. Therefore, in teaching material factors and peers factors as the breakthrough point, combined with different grades were tried in autonomous learning the differences, strengthening students’learning content and study method of the training, will be in yanbian area further development of autonomous learning effective action.
