This paper from the perspective of cultural anthropology, using the theory of cultural change, according to the literature material, based on the field investigation, to Bayandelger village in Xilingol league Sunid left banner as an example to analyzed the family structure and functions of the change, discusses the Inner Mongolia pastoral areas the regularity of the family change.The implementation of the household contract responsibility system for30years, Byandelger village extended family structure and function has changed very greatly. From the structure of the family terms, and extended family structure with economic society development, from the stem family dominated into core family held a dominant position, experience stem family, missing the family, a dink family structure changes in together. From the function of the family to see,Bayandelger village traditional family structure including physiological function and population reproduction、cultivation and reproduce raising function, economy function and the education function. Because changes of present social and cultural system, pastoral areas of the traditional family population out of acion, but the family’s cultural life function cultivating function remain the dominant mode. In this, the family’s economic function play a fundamental role.This paper be made up of five chapters.The introduction part, mainly introduced the topic of this article, the former research, the reason for the purpose and the significance, research theory and method. The first chapter, mainly introduced the basic situation of field survey and the deals at Bayandelger.And The second chapter, analyzes the structure changes in Bayandelger village. The third chapter introduces the change of family functioning. And last chapter, I studying the family function change. The conclusion part, due to the pastoral areas of the traditional culture of the Mongolian family to carry forward the plays an important role, so the pastoral areas of the structure and function of the family changes further discussed, pay more attention on them.
