Review Of People’s Publishing House’s High School History Textbook

History textbooks are the main tools of history teaching, it not only to provide students with the basic knowledge of history, but to carries the basic idea of historical education."Ren Min Ban" high school history textbook has changed largely on structure and content. To clarify the characteristics and the shortages is necessary to promote the improvement of the textbooks,and also help teachers and students make full use of the textbook.This paper based on the spirit of new course reform,combined with the pedagogy, psychology, history theory to analysis "Ren Min Ban", and to give advice on its shortages. Compared to the previous textbooks, the features of "Ren Min Ban"including:First, the structure of textbook consist of module and specialtopic, this change not only to strengthen the economic history and culture history courses in high school,but also to avoid the simple repetition of junior high school; Second, combined Chinese history and World history, this benefit students to compared theirs similarities and differences, which should cultivate students’ opening consciousness and international consciousness; Third, the auxiliary system of "Ren Min Ban" is diversified, this create more condition for students’ independent study.The shortages of the textbook concentrated in three aspect, First, the structure of textbook separate the internal relations of History.Second, the content of textbooks still "complex, difficult, slant, and old"; Third, the design of auxiliary system is unreasonable, it can be improved fatherly..The quality of textbooks largely decided the result of history education. This paper analysis "Ren Min Ban"high school history textbooks’ features and shortages,then put forward some suggestion, in hopes of the textbooks should be improved, and to help the teachers and students make full use of the textbooks.
