The Effects On Adolescents’ Spiritual Growth Of New Media Reading

Reading is a kind of important means for human to know the world, continue civilization, maintain the normal life, furthermore it is a long-term, accumulated and subtle mental activity. It is also a kind of power, a reading history, records of the way and process of human spiritual growth.In the21st century, with the development of the Internet information technology and digital technology, network, e-books, digital TV, digital newspapers, digital radio, digital magazine, mobile phone, touch media and other new media successively appear, a new type of reading—new media-centric reading approach enters into people’s daily life. The richness of the reading contents, convenient access to information,and visual presentation improve people’s reading interest greatly. Meanwhile its sharing, openness and interactive features meet the demands of people to communicate, compared with the traditional media, new media reading’s advantages needless to say. However this reading approach also makes people especially the adolescents’reading revealed a light reading, miscellaneous reading, its participated, blindly obedience, entertainment. etc partiality reading characteristics are controversial, this value of information acquisition, contempt of critical reading thinking ability training reading habits seriously affect adolescents’ spiritual growth and lifelong development of individuals. To adolescents as the research object, this article tries to make an investigation of the adolescents’ reading status, reveal the adolescent’s reading problems and effects on the adolescents’spiritual growth, then analyzes the cause of the problems, and put forward correct strategies to lead the adolescents healthy growth under the new media environment.The paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction. It mainly expounds the research background, reasons, review of the literature study, the significance and the direction and t methods of the research.The second part mainly defines three concepts of reading, new media and spiritual growth. First, it combs the concept of reading from language discipline,reading psychology and media communication this three angles; then it summarizes the concept of new media at home and abroad, analyzes the characteristics of the new media reading; again this paper tries to summarizes spiritual growth from the view of biology, the education philosophy and psychology angle, and defines the connotation of spiritual growth in this paper.The third part is the survey of adolescents’new media status and effects, and the basic conclusions obtained from investigation and analysis. This part includes the survey purpose, survey methods, the analysis of the survey’s results and the survey’s basic conclusion four aspects.The fourth part analyzes the causes of the problems in the conclusion.The fifth part is the education countermeasures to guide the adolescents’healthy growth new media reading environment,it includes adolescent’self-improvement, new media own charm of ascension, the school education’ strategy, family education cooperation and the government’s guidance and management five aspects.
