Ethnic minority university students mostly are selected from minority elite, theysustain great responsibilities of the construction and development of ethnic areas. Also,the ideological level of ethnic minority university students is closely linked to nationaldevelopment. Therefore, it is one of the basic tasks for the ethnic minority areas’institutions of higher education to cultivate qualified contributors and reliablesuccessors into Ideological and political education work.With the expansion of university enrollment, the number of minority college studentsis increasing, more and more ethnic minority students becoming general colleges oruniversities’ member.(Except for Nationalities Universities) However, as a specialgroup, their habits, religions and some aspects may be totally different with the others,that’s why when they have entered the general colleges or universities, they wouldencountered a series of problems. Such as the puzzle with adapting their new life,communicating barriers, as well as professional learning and so on. If these problemscannot be solved in time, they will do a great harm to the ethnic minority students’healthy. Hence, the colleges’ ideological and political educational workers should payattention to how important this class is, and concern more about students’ study and life,learn to understand their ideological characteristics. Meanwhile, discuss the way ofenhancing ethnic minority college students’ ideological education work constantly.Based on "The Research on Ideological Education of Ethnic Minority CollegeStudents in The General Universities", this paper is intended to discuss the minoritystudents’ ideological characteristics in general college, and the new idea ofstrengthening the general college minority students’ ideological education. And itdivides into four parts: The first part is the introduction. Give a abstract of the reasonabout the topic, the purpose and significance of research. What’s more, research ideasand methods, research innovation, as well as to the research of basic concept arecovered. The second part is focus on ethnic minority students’ ideological statusinvestigation and analysis. Through sampling measurement and quantitative analysis,point out its features and the existing problems. The third part is investigation andanalysis of general university students’ ideological status. The fourth part isstrengthening college minority students’ ideological education. Come up with theeffective strategies though educational idea, content, and method that general collegesand universities in minority college students’ ideological education should adopt.
