At present, Chinese university carries out the three-class management, that is university, college and teaching research section.The teaching research section is the basic of manage organization, the university’s management focus on the construction and development of the teaching research section. because it reflects the college’s teaching level as a whole in some way. Therefore, to strengthen and improve university’s construction is an important issue of advancing the reform, optimizing the management, improving the teaching quality.The teaching research section of volleyball belongs to the college of education in Beijing sport university, which has powerful teaching staff and remarkable scientific research achievement. In order to research the development of the teaching research section, the paper summarizes and expounds its current construction situation, classifies and analysies its advantages, disadvantage, opportunity, challenge factors, and constructs SWOT matrix by using the SWOT analysis. Then, using the SWOT quantitative analysis method, comfirms the most suitable strategy for the volleyball teaching research section, the strategy is to rely on its strengths and perform aggressively. Above all, the paper makes some strategic keys and suggestions for its development.
