The standard of material life and the situation about spiritual and cultural development is not balanced, which made college students confused with human existence in modern society. The economic globalization has also brought a variety of ideologies and cultures, and because of college students’out look is in the fluctuations stage, which would be easy to sponge-like absorption of all kind of new ideas and cultures. Existentialism, one of the most prosperous trend of philosophy in20th. Century, have far-reaching influence in the capitalist countries. And in early1980s, it came into China along with the reform and opening up in China, and which is effecting and changing people’s ideology and lifestyle. Existentialism as a stream of consciousness, deeply influenced college students’view on life such as the point of freedom, loneliness, alienation, from which hinder Students outlook on life. Life education of Students is one of the core theory of Ideological Education, has played an essential role in improving of China’s University Students’ Moral.There are four parts in my thesis:In the first section, I summarized the existential view of human existence, which in order to reveal the essence of existentialism. In the second part, I wrote about the influence on college students’ outlook on life in three aspects:the purpose of life, the attitude towards life and the value of life, all of which was caused by existentialism. For the third part, I analyzed the reasons for these effects from the angle of students’ mentality, social environment and university. The fourth part is to offer some proposals on how to improve college students’outlook on life in three ways:the guidance of college and university, social environment and the students themselves.
