HeFeng County High School PE And Health New Curriculum Implementation Status And Counter Measures

Since Sep2009, the new curriculum reform in Senior High Schools has been carried out in Hubei province. So, how about the Senior High School Sports and Health? Through this research, it can help those Sports teachers find out some problems in carrying out the new curriculum reform in time, and then improve it to meet those demands in High schools. At last the efficiency in the High school Sports class can be improved.In this paper, questionnaires, interviews and other research methods have been adop ted to carry out a survey, and the respondents includes2leaders for teaching, all PE teach ers and some students in the only2high schools in Hefeng county, Hubei province.The main focus of the survey is on their awareness of curriculum standards, practical status of PE classroom teaching, practical extracurricular sports activities, PE teachers’ profession alism, teaching assessment, the development and utilization of curriculum resources and so on.The study shows that there exist many problems in the process of new curriculum re form of PE and Health in Hefeng’s high school, such as insufficient awareness of new cur riculum standard, school’s ignorance of plan-making of implementation, teachers’ insuffic ient teaching preparation in profession and mind, limits of objective conditions and so onThose mentioned problems can be handled go by the following suggestions:strengt hen the publicity of new curriculum reform to schools, teachers and students, make full u se of the current teaching resources and raise more money to create better objective condi tions for teaching, carry out sufficient and proper extracurricular sports activities in a ere ative way, attach more attention to PE teaching assessment and teaching resource develo pment and utilization.
