The development of the relationship between government and state-run highervocational colleges is one product of the continuously interactive course betweenthe administrative functions and education field. In recent years, with the fastdevelopment of social economy and the ceaseless rising of the commercializeddegree, the demand of high level technical personnel has been on the continuousincreases in the labor market. Undoubtedly it has provided a wide developmentspace for those state-run higher vocational colleges whose leading duties tocultivate the applied talent. It is of important and scientific value to booster thedevelopment of higher education in our country by studying the administrativefunction of the government on higher vocational education and the relationshipbetween government and state-run higher vocational colleges to be legislated forand straightened out. This paper, taking several typical state-run higher vocationalcolleges in Guangxi as examples, has probed into the development of therelationship and the problems existing in its interactive course betweengovernment and state-run higher vocational colleges. It is concluded in this paperthat at present there exist such three different modes as single management ofgovernment, compound management of industry and government and quasi marketorientation management in the relationship between government and state-runhigher vocational colleges. The above mentioned different modes have resulted inmany problems in the location of the relationship between each other. This paperhas put forward some countermeasures to these problems in order to offer thehelpful references for the development of state-run higher vocational colleges inour country.
