It has developed for more than twenty years since Chinese educational institutions set up the first professional degree in 1990.The professional degree education has trained a large number of high-level and advanced application experts, and basically meet the require of our social and economic constructions. In the process of development, the Postgraduate Education mechanisms play a crucial role. Professional degree graduate cultivation mechanism refers to the certain goal guidance, all levels of graduate cultivation mechanism in graduate student cultivation process involved in the culture elements and culture link, and the relationship between them and the operation mode of the sum, mainly includes the entrance way, teaching way, teacher selection and degree awarded in four aspects. The Postgraduate Education mechanisms also guarantees that the direction of professional degree education towards healthy and orderly development. This paper gives the results of the study on China’s professional degree of the postgraduate educational mechanisms by six chapters.Chapter I:introduction, mainly elaborated the selected topic background, research significance, the definition of related concepts, research, research ideas and methods and several problems.ChapterⅡ:The process and the three stages of the development of Professional graduate education in China:1983-1990 beginning stage,1991-1995 budding stage, from 1996 to now rapid development stage, this process is promoted by the relevant state policies and regulations, it shows the highly attention of the country on the professional degree postgraduate education.ChapterⅢand ChapterⅣ:the investigation and analysis of the professional degree graduate cultivation mechanism, this part of the paper gives the analysis result by questionnaire 250 professional degree graduate students in Zhengzhou University. Although professional degree postgraduate cultivating mechanism in the basic frame of our country has been basically established, but the following problems still exist:First, the misunderstanding and prejudice on professional degree, and the entrance is too much of a single way; Second, the traditional teaching methods played in the dominant position, professional degree education is lacked on its own characteristics; third, the unbalance of the mentor group’s structure, and the shortage of extramural teachers; fourth, the thesis focused on academic research and the quality need for improvement.Chapter V:the characteristic and enlightenment of foreign professional degree graduate cultivation mechanism. This chapter researched through the United States, Japan, Germany and the three national professional degree graduate cultivation mechanism, and found their common point is:Choose the admission of“excellent”in the entrance way, both requirements of the students’academic excellence or outstanding results, but also requires a work experience; Flexible teaching methods and culture life of the curriculum and teaching methods, the use of different teaching methods for different professional degree category; Focus on professional knowledge and practical ability; Rigorous mentor selection procedures, focusing on the balance of the number of academic and practice-type mentor in the mentor group structure; Strictly regulate degree-granting, focusing on the application and practicality of the thesis. These features provide a valuable reference for our professional degree graduate cultivation mechanism research.Chapter VI:Improve the countermeasures and suggestions of the mechanism of Postgraduate Education in China. According to the shortcomings and errors in the mechanism of China’s Postgraduate Education, and with reference to foreign Postgraduate Education mechanism features, the author gave suggestions and countermeasures on five areas, which are the reverse of the concept, the improving of the way entrancing school, the improving of teaching methods, the construction of teachers, and the establishing of strictly paper review mechanism.
