Research On The Coupling Between Population And Economic Development In Sichuan Province Key Development Zone

Population issue is the key factor which restrains and affects the sustainability of economic and social development. The coordination of Population and economic constraints and impacts on regional economic sustainable development. The coordination of population and economic relations are not only the key to the implementation of main functional areas planning, but also the basis of the main functional areas that formed smoothly. The article researches coordination between population and economic based on the perspective of the main functional areas.Taking the interaction relationship of the coupling between population and economic as the cue and the County Administrative Region in Sichuan Province as the research boject, this article analysis the coupling between population and economic from two fields that population and economic distribution as well as population and economic development of Key development areas in Sichuan Province over the past10years, refetring to the coupling index and coupling model and taking advantage of GIS technology. And then the article propose to the suggestions that promote the coordination development of population and economy and advance the formation of key development regions.The research results show that:(1) There is a significant correlation between population and economic distributi-on in key development areas. The coupling between population and economic space distribution is well and the degree of coupling are enhancing continuously,and their correlation coefficient increased from0.75in2001to0.87in2010. The relationship between population and economic space distribution was tended to continue coordination over past decades, manifested that the number of economic backwardness was reduced but the number of economic coordinated was increased; From the spatial autocorrelation, we found that the Moran’s I decreased from0.4457in2001to0.4155 in2010,and the number of high-high and low-low counties decreased, which demonstrated that the relationship between population and economic spatial distribution would tend to coordinate.But in general, the level of coordination between population and economic distribution of key developments areas in SiChuan province was still relatively low.(2) In the period of study, the degree of coupling between population and economic development of the key development areas continued to increase and the coupling of intensity came into antagonism stage. The coordination degree of population and economy was gradually enhanced and the coupling coordination degree was increased from0.3934in2001to0.5619in2010.From the coordination types,the result found that the major of type was transitional-type and recession type in2001,while the number of transitional-type increase quickly and became the dominant position, and the coordinati-on type was increasing at the same time.But in general, the number of transitional-type accounted for more than80%of the key development, the level of coordination between population and economic development was still relatively low.(3) According to the level of coordination between population and economic development was relatively low and their coordination level existed obviously differen-ces in the space, and the concentration of population and economic concentration speed was not synchronized that restricted the population and economy coordination develop-ment of key development areas.Proposing remedial measures from population and economic to promote population and economic coordination development of key development areas.
