| At present, the graduate employment difficulty has become a major livelihoodissue the whole society concerns, and the quality of graduate employment has alsobecome an important indicator when the society evaluates institutions of highereducation in running school level. Therefore, in the knowledge economy era, thepersonnel standards improve continuously, the talents flow accelerate, the domesticindustrial structure adjusts, and the globalization, the enhancement of college studentscore career competitiveness is the guarantee of the healthy development of our country,is the practical problem that the students themselves should consider seriously and facecorrectly, and is an urgent research subject to higher education institutions especially.College student core career competitiveness refers to the stable core competenciesthat play a crucial decisive role in personal career development, which is differentfrom the basic work ability, and is not easy to imitate and copy. Meanwhile, the collegestudents form the core career competitiveness in their college life, and under thecommon education and training from school, family, society and college studentsthemselves. The core career competitiveness is the core quality of college students,which can be summed up to five aspects. Those are the positive attitude, independentlearning ability, noble personality charm, solid innovation quality, and excellentphysical and mental qualities.Education of college students has its own specialty. College students’ learning andgrowth is a process to accumulate and improve knowledge, abilities and quality.Therefore, if the institutions of higher education aim to achieve improving the corecareer competiveness of college students, they need to strengthen students’ ideals andbeliefs education, life education, and moral education. They need to improve students’major competence, general ability, practical ability, and innovation andentrepreneurship capability. The colleges also need to use modern education andtraining philosophy, deeply analyze college students’ characteristics and their learningand growth environment, timely adjust the education and training system, create a favorable internal and external environment, use a variety of effective resources andmeans, with the help of family, national and social forces, and fully mobilize collegestudents learning initiative and enthusiasm.The innovation of this paper is comprehensive and systematic countermeasuresproposed to enhance the core career competitiveness of college students from theperspective of institutions of higher education. Starting from the perspective ofinstitutions of higher education, based on the contemporary environment for collegestudents growing, analyzing the constituent elements of the core careercompetitiveness of college students, studying the overall situation of the core careercompetitiveness of college students in China, exploring the problems and reasons inthe process of the colleges enhancing the core career competitiveness of collegestudents, summing up the author’s practical experience in college students careerdevelopment services, and according to the national development planning and theworld development trend, this article proposes the countermeasures to enhance thecore career competitiveness of college students for institutions of higher education.This paper’s research methods are literature analysis, case studies, survey andpractice. It deeply explores the countermeasures for colleges to enhance the career corecompetitiveness of college students through three aspects. Those are the meaning ofenhancing college students’ career core competitiveness, the problems and reasons inthe process of the institutions of higher education enhancing it, and countermeasuresfor institutions of higher education to enhance the core career competitiveness ofcollege students.The first part discusses the meaning of enhancing college students’ career corecompetitiveness. On the basis of analyzing the connotation and elements of collegestudents’ career core competitiveness, this paper discusses the importance to improve it,then demonstrates the theoretical and practical significance of researches oncountermeasures for institutions of higher education to enhance the core careercompetitiveness of college students.The second part focuses on exploring the problems and reasons in the process ofthe institutions of higher education enhancing the core career competiveness of college students, which mainly contains five aspects. Those are the career counseling system isimperfect, paying more attention to knowledge than to character, paying more attentionto teaching than to ability, paying more attention to professionals than to generalists,and paying more attention to theory than to practice.On the basis of the first two parts, according to China’s actual situation of highereducation and college students learning and growth environment, absorbing researchfindings of domestic and foreign experts and scholars, combined with individualexperiences in college student career development service and in the course “collegestudent career development and career guidance†teaching process, keeping up withthe pace and trend of social development, the third part systematically proposescountermeasures for institutions of higher education to enhance the core careercompetitiveness of college students, which includes five parts mainly. Those are tostrengthen practice teaching, to do a good job in “the second classroomâ€, to create agood atmosphere in campus, to build a college student career development servicessystem and to strengthen the external exchanges and cooperation. |
