At present, our country is speeding up the construction of new rural areas, in this process,the development of information technology and the remote education informationizationadvancement undoubtedly new vitality into the traditional rural distance education training. Inthis situation, through the modern satellite transmission technology, network technology andmultimedia technology, etc. Various regions actively carry out the rural party members andpeasants remote education training activities. This paper is put forward under the backgroundwhich is based on the ShanDong social and technology planning project "The research offarmers remote training new modle based on the internet " and The ministry of education ofhumanities and social science research and the western border area youth fund projects "Agriculture, rural areas and farmers remote education resource sharing research ". Thepurpose is just under the Moodle platform, design and implement a modern rural distanceeducation training system that has synchronous distance training, asynchronous coursewareon demand learning, at the same time with the interaction with the auxiliary functions.Now most of the rural distance education platform just has the function of one-waytransmission, lack of two-way interaction, this situation may make farmers have low learningpassion and inefficient study, in this way, we can not reach the effect of the remote training. Through on-the-spot investigation about demand, because the group of farmers have arelatively low cultural quality, so more prefer to listen to clear look easy to understandinstructional resources. Based on the field research and literature survey, we adopt coursemanagement system-Moodle of open source, it is a platform which as the guiding ideology ofsocial constructivism for design and implementation, it suitable for online learning based onthe network, also can act as a traditional learning supplement. Foreign countries applynetwork to remote training farmers have been more widely, but in China is still at thebeginning, and have a smaller application scale. This paper being on the basis of our country’scurrent remote training organizations and project, in the conditional and developed rural areasapply the Moodle platform for the remote training for farmers.This paper used the method of literature, questionnaire and system research and contentanalysis method, mainly in the following several aspects to do some research work. 1.The research in farmers distance learning and the related concepts and theoretical ofthe Moodle platform. Mainly including remote training, Moodle platform concept, interactivetheory, the internet communications theory and adult learning theory, so it provide the theorybasis for the papaer.2.The feasibility of analysis in farmers remote education training implementation underthe Moodle platform. First expounded Moodle module of the platform, and then analysissome parts of remote training include support environment, application mode and suitablefield, put forward the feasibility plan of the two parts combination.3.The design of the rural distance education training system under the Moodle platform.Proposed the overall frame and structure of the rural distance training system under theMoodle platform, and planing the overall process of the system every module, give the wholedesign method.4.Rural distance education training system implementation of main functions based inMoodle platform, including the analysis of the system key technology, the seconddevelopment of the Moodle, then develop an example training course "the silkwormepidemiology".After a series of the research work, the paper made some achievements. Used theMoodle platform we achieve the preliminary trying of the rural distance education trainingsystem. But in the function module still exists on the many problems and the insufficiency, inthe later work will continue to improve the system of research.
