Design And Implementation Of Mobile Learning System Based On Android Platform

The continued development of mobile technology and the extensive use of Electronic Learning promote the development of Mobile Learning. Mobile learning has got more and more attention of scholars, and becomes a new study field. Mobile learning can provide students with learning experience anytime and anywhere. It broke the constraints of traditional education in time and space. Students can make full use of their time segments to learn. This is very important to achieve the target of national lifelong learning concept.Today mobile learning researches generally concentrate on the theory, however, few researches keep an eye on the development of mobile learning system and resources construction. Considering such condition, the author firstly studied the theory and the application mode, and then discussed how to design and implement a mobile learning system based upon Android platform.In order to get a full concept of the feature of M-Learning and its current research situation, we first use content analysis method to study the domestic and international papers related with M-Learning, which determine the theoretical basis and application mode for system design. Secondly, the paper introduces some key technologies about M-Learning system based Android platform, such as Android UI technologies, XML document parsing technology and data compression technology. Then, combined with the user needs and mobile learning characteristics and application mode, we propose an appropriate technical scheme, and design and implement a mobile learning system prototype. Finally, we prove the usability and effectiveness of the system by choosing small-scale users to use.This paper is a try to use M-Learning theory in practice. Although the system still has some problems, it has a positive meaning to promote the development of Mobile learning.
