The recent years have witness the frequent occurrence of corporal and disguised punishment and a mounting number of vicious examples in education circle, which have exerted bad effects on the society. The corporal punishments practice directly or not, don’t stand any chance when up against the students’rights to life and health because of their mental and physical behaviors. The cruelty and indifference of corporal punishment go against the rules for the all-around development of the students and the teaching strategy of the teachers. The legitimate nights of the students are seriously violated in the cases where their dignity is punctured, then personality is twisted, their thinking ability is suppressed, and their emotion is offended.Corporal punishment, as well, has a great effect on family happiness, school harmony and social stability. In view of the current physical punishment phenomenon in primary and secondary school, what are the major ways and characteristics of physical punishment? Hereafter, what harms will it bring about? What are the reasons that generate this phenomenon and how should we eradicate it from schools? Revolving around this series of problems, I will make an empirical research out of the reasons and countermeasure of physical punishment in primary and secondary school.In this paper, a set of research methods---literature collection, investigation research, and historical analysis, combination of theory and practice, and observation---are applied. Measures to correct the students’bad behavior, avoiding the conflicts between teachers and students, family and school, caused by the fact that the corporal punishment towards the students does harm to their bodies and mind. Meanwhile, it can lead to improving the quality of the teachers, establishing harmonious relationship between teachers and students, and furthermore, promoting the harmonious cultural construction of the campus.Based on the meticulous analyses above, on the characteristics and reasons of corporal punishment currently practiced by primary-and-middle school teachers, several solutions have been put forward to tackle the problem. The essay revolves around discussing means possible to get corporal punishment eradicated from school.
