In twentieth Century thirty and forty times, the invasive war launched by Japan has broughtvery grave disaster to the Chinese nation. The war, coupled with the destruction of the naturaldisasters, led to large-scale population migrations. Due to the large population density before thewar, the earlier and longer lasting time fall to enemy occupation, the population migration inShandong area is more representative and typical.Shandong province is one of the areas which territory earlier fallen to enemy occupation. Alarge group of refugees spontaneously migrated with their families to avoid being burned, killed, raped and looted by the Japanese army. With the influence of the war, Spontaneous migration ofrefugees in Shandong displayed period of time, which mainly occurred in the early days of thewar, the Japanese large-scale "mopping up" and the time of public security strengthen movement. As there is no special organization, the direction and geographical distribution of migration aremore widely. In the province, the refugees mainly shirked in the neighboring cities and countiesor between urban and rural areas. In the course of the war, thus demographic changes are verystrenuous in some big cities, such as Ji’nan, Qingdao and so on. In addition to mutual avoidancein the province, there are many refugees moved to the other provinces, in which northeast areashave the largest number, and second is the southwest and northwest regions, and another part ofthe refugees drifted in the southern provinces.During the War of Resistance against Japan, Shandong is one of the main supplies of laborsfor the Japanese invaders, therefore, labors, as the main body of the forced migration ofpopulation, the number of that is also quite breathtaking. Japanese puppet regime looted a lot ofShandong labors by many means, for example, cheat, arrest, force, the use of "special workers".Whereabouts of the labors adjusted and changed with Japan’s so-called "industry developmentplan". In the early days of the war, based on the "development" of Manchuria country byJapanese, the labors are mainly pillaged to the northeast region; At the beginning of1939, Japancarried out "industrial development three-year plan" in Mengjiang, so a large number of cheapforced labors were transported to the Mengjiang region. Later, with the need of Japan’s wartimeeconomy, the Japanese government and big enterprises shipped many labors of Shandong toJapan as drudges.Due to the huge number of population migration in Shandong province during the war, theimpact should not be underestimated. First of all, population migration greatly improved thepeople’s awareness of people and nation; secondly, it weakened the invading forces of Japanesearmy and supported the anti-Japanese to a certain extent; thirdly, the migration promoted the economic development of resettlement areas. At the same time, population migration alsobrought some negative influences and social problems: leaving a number of "unmanned areas"appeared, affecting the normal production around, exacerbating people’s economic burden, making people’s lives harder, exacerbating the diseases epidemic and so on.
