The new round of courses reformation in basic education has attached much importance on course resources development, setting it as an important guarantee for achieving the goals of this round of course reformation, for effective improvement of teaching quality and for all-around development of the students. Since the new course were put into use, many front-line teachers all over the country have actively trialed the course resources development in their teaching practices, and have gained abundant achievements. Of course, with those achievements comes improvement to be made, which is both a focus and an access point of this research. This research looks into the present situation of the course resources development for the political thought course of senior high school, aims at presenting an overview of the such development, further deepens and enriches an understanding of such development, presents existing problems encountered in its application, and strives to find countermeasures for the gaps and problems found, so that this research attains a guiding significance for the teachers of political thought course of senior middle school, providing them with basis, approaches in application and methodologies for furthering the course resource development; presentation of research of the current situation will also assist the academic world in deepening their theoretical study of the course resource development. Therefore, this research has a certain degree of academic value.This research was prepared in both theory and methodologies. The research begins with sorting out the present situation and related discourses, explores related concepts of course resource development, and introduces relevant theories in course resource development of the political thought course of senior middle school. Relevant researches by the experts and scholars in the sphere have provided this research with strong theoretical support, however, a combination of positive study and analysis may better fit the subject matte, is better able to give light to improving the teaching effectiveness, and thus is better able to help to further the course resource development. Therefore, this author believes that researches in the course resource development shall, with the guidance of relevant theories, stress its operative application. It is the theme of this paper. In terms of methodologies, this research adopts empirical study; it identifies problems through both qualitative and quantitative study, and then proposes some specific solutions. Although Guangxi has not put into implementation the new course reformation, teachers of political thought course in some senior middle schools in Guilin City have made continuous efforts to put into practice of the spirit of new course reformation; they have taken active steps in their daily teaching work to trial the course resource reformation, and have gained rich achievements. Therefore, this research took as samples the teachers of political thought course of senior middle school in12counties and5districts of Guilin,conducted sampling investigation into the samples, gathered field materials, analyzed the current situation of the course resource development of the political thought course of senior high school. It is hoped that the research based on these samples reflects problems commonly seen in the resource development, raises attention of the relevant scholars and the front-line teachers towards these issues so that more niche-targeting countermeasures are found for further study and teaching practice.The empirical study discovered that the teachers of the political thought course of the senior middle schools have attained a broad perspective of course resources; many teachers have made active trials in course resource development in their teaching practices. However, the following issues are commonly seen in the teaching practice:Most teachers have incomplete understanding of implications of course resource development; the course resource development are restricted to a shallow level of collecting and presenting raw materials and replacing examples; their approaches towards resource development are limited; their access point of resource development stays away from the existing knowledge and experiences of the students; the multi-media coursewares are not in their full play.Based on the findings of the empirical study and the theoretic foundations of the course resoruce development of political thought course of senior middle school, this research prposes the following specific countermeasures:Transforming concepts and ideas; focusing on devleopent; expanding the approaches towards course resource development, in combination with the the teaching methods; building meaningful teaching space to facilitate effective interaction between students and teachers; using multimedia tools to their full play, in combination with teaching methods.Of course, this research has some room for improvement. With limitations in financial resources and materials, this paper is far from being a perfect research of the current situation of the course resource development of the political thought course of senior middle school; the sample size needs to be expanded. This author wishes to have assistance and guidance from experts and colleagues in the sphere of course resources development, providing constructive suggestions for development of course resources for the new courses.
