| In resent years, teachers’ classroom clothing has been concerned seriously widely. Different requirements and expectations have been put forward by students’ parents, teachers, educational regulatory authorities and the school itself. On September 14th 2010, Nanjing Department of Education Promulgated a file on the prohibitions of teacher’s classroom clothing. It includes six parts:avoid dirty, avoid exposure, avoid transparent, avoid short, avoid tight and avoid odd. Since the file has been promulgated, people from all aspects have discussed it intensely. And they couldn’t reach a consistent conclusion about the advantage and disadvantage of the file. Essentially, the reason why the educational regulatory authorities, the schools, the teachers and the parents have put forward many suggestions and requirements is that they hope that teachers could show a professional image of learned, tasteful and cordial to the students.So that they can believe in their teachers and be willing to learn more. For the majority of the educational objects, especially of the minors who haven’t form their own aesthetic taste,the teachers thought, words and dressing style plays a subtle influence on shaping the aesthetic disposition, aesthetic taste and the aesthetic values. In this paper I believe that the teachers should dress for the beauty and more importantly dress for the efficiency.This article reached the following conclusions though an interview survey on 30 students who are studying in Southwest University:1.93.3% of the subjects show that they will observe the teachers’ clothing in classroom for at lest once while the others don’t. (x=20.833, p<0.001)2.63.4% of the subjects pay more attention to the female teachers.30% of the subjects pay more attention to the male teachers because some of the younger teachers are focusing on self-image management which in shark contrast with the majority of male teachers dress rigid and become the topic of students.6.6% of the subjects don’t pay any attention to their teachers’ clothing in classroom. (x=2.893, p>0.05) 3.76.7% of the objects believe that teacher’s clothing in classroom can affect their learning status including attention, interest, motivation, consciousness and emotions while the others don’t think so. (x=7.5, p<0.01)4. On the issue of sexy and skin exposure of female teacher,96.7% of the objects show that they don’t think sexy equals to skin exposure. (x=24.3, p<0.001) 86.7% of the objects show that appropriate sexy and skin exposure can attract their attention, learning interest and pleasant emotions so that they can work harder to get a higher score. (x=19.2, p<0.001) That implies aesthetic feeling is a key factor to the issue of sexy and skin exposure of female teacher5.86.7%(26) of the subjects prefer that female teachers to wear colorful, bright clothing and the style should be varied richly but not rigid.90%(27) of the subjects expect the male teachers to enhance their own dress code management. |
