Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping are the main leaders of China. They had attachinggreat importance to the ideals and beliefs education in different historical periods andstages,and they made indelible contributions to advance ideals and beliefs education ofour country in theory and practice.The relationship between Mao Zedong and DengXiaoping’s ideals and beliefs education is compatible and they are the dialecticalunification relations.Their thoughts exert great influence on the ideals and beliefseducation in China at present. Based on Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping’s thought ofideals and beliefs education, some enlightenments were presented to our current workon the ideals and beliefs education. This thesis was divided into four parts.In the first part, the reason of choosing the topic and background were mainlydiscussed, and the related domestic literature review and research methods were stated.In the second part, the related concepts ideals and beliefs education were expounded,and the necessity of the ideals and beliefs education was explained.In the third part, the forming process of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping’s idealsand beliefs education were analysed, mainly from the historical condition and socialbackground.In the fourth part, Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping ideals and beliefs educationwere compared. The consistency of their thoughts can be seen in the aspects of thehomology of the theoretical system, the scientific nature of the theoretical foundationand extensive mass base. In the cultivation of the new generation, Mao Zedongproposed the standard of "red and expert". On the basis of Mao Zedong’s standard, DengXiaoping put forward the new training standard that was "new generation of people withlofty ideals, moral integrity, good education and a strong sense of discipline". As tocommon ideals, Mao Zedong believed that the common ideal of the new democraticrevolution stage was to build a new society and a new country of Chinese nation, whileDeng Xiaoping first clarified the dialectical relationship between the common ideal ofthe socialism with Chinese characteristics and highest ideal of communism. As to theeducational mode, both had each emphasize particularly on and their practicefoundation were different.In the fifth part, through the above analysis of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping’s ideals and beliefs education, it would be helpful for us to have a correct understandingof their thoughts, especially the enlightenments which meant to promote the overallwork about the ideals and beliefs education, that is, the importance of the ideals andbeliefs education work shall be known, the ideals and beliefs education shall be keptpace with the times, the content of the ideals and beliefs education shall be innovatedand enriched, thoughts shall be changed and the new ideas of the ideals and beliefseducation shall be set up, which can guide the ideals and beliefs education. This is thefoothold and the innovations of this thesis.
