The fundamental task of National defense education is to enhancethe whole nation’s spirit of patriotism and safeguard the nation as well asnational interests as a symbol of the awareness of national defense.National defense is the base of country’s existing. When the war hasn’teventually disappeared from human’s social life, country will still facethe possibility of foreign aggression. Defending the territorial integrityand sovereignty should be the people’s consciousness.Currently, as an important component in our ideological and politicaleducation work, colleges’ and universities’ defense education curriculasystem construction in Tibetan area has made a significant contributionfor maintenance of social harmony and stability, steady and rapideconomic development in Tibet Autonomous Region. It plays animportant role and has significant meaning to strengthen the quality oftalents training in the universities in Tibet by further improving theideological and political education under the new situation in new periodand construct national defense educational and scientific system with thecharacteristics of frontier minority areas and the region in Tibet toreinforce awareness of national defense and national securityconsciousness among Tibetan students as well as carry forward thepatriotic feelings. Cultivating the excellent style of hard-working and perseverance and strengthening the sense of organization and disciplineas well as setting up the correct outlook on life and values are also ratherimportant. However, due to various reasons, the construction of nationaldefense education is facing with lots of difficulties and disadvantages inthe process of curriculum system construction. It requires more attentionsto be paid by relevant departments and leaders, and the exploration frompractice to improve the working mechanism of national defense educationand step out a solid step towards the construction of national defenseeducation system within which it has the characteristics of Chinese andTibet.The purpose of this study aims to analyze the current situation ofnational defense education and discuss the construction problems ondefense education curriculum system by applying the basic principles ofcurriculum and instruction and basing on the latest national formulate thatis relevant to university defense education regulations, policies andguidelines as well as combining Tibet geographical environment withhumanistic environment characteristics. It is to put forward the suitablenational defense educational curricula system in Tibetan frontier forbetter implementing the relevant national university defense educationpolicy and consolidating national defense and social stability in Tibet byproviding valuable reference materials.The full text is divided into six parts. The first part introduces the background and reasons of subject choosing. The second part introducesthe research situation of defense education system in domestic and abroaduniversities. The third part introduces the system pattern of Chinesenational defense education in Colleges and Universities. The fourth partillustrates the colleges in Tibet and universities defense education theory.The fifth part shows the specialty in Tibet colleges and universities ondefense education, through a series of qualitative research by classroomobservation and interviews, and then discovers the deficiencies andproblems existing in Tibet university defense education as well asin-depth analyzes those problems. The sixth part, according to thescientific outlook on development principle and the guiding ideology,provides a reasonable and appropriate policy guidance andrecommendations by combining the actual situation in Tibetan region foreffectively carrying out the universities defense education in the future inTibet area.
