In recent years, new progress has been made in research of multimedia learning. Thecognitive model of multimedia learning, which is the abstract generalization and summarization ofconcept, process, mechanism and principle in this field, gradually attracts people’s attention. Atpresent, some cognitive models have been proposed, to provide guidance for the MultimediaLearning theory and practice. These cognitive models have some flaws, so that many problemshave emerged spontaneously in practical application. On this background, it is very necessary tofurther study the cognitive model of multimedia learning. In this paper, we adopt multiple research methods, such as literature research method, qualitative analysis method, model simulation method and experimental research method. Themain works of this research as follows:1. Through summarizing the theory and practice of multimedia learning, especially thecognitive model of multimedia learning. Analyze the problems of previous researches. mainlyincluded: Lack of the environmental stage; Only aiming at the high level cognitive activities; Usingsensory receiving as the standard to divide channel; The non-cognitive factor are not describedclearly; Lack of the support from Cognitive Neuroscience.2. According to the present existing problems, through reviewing literature of correlationtheory, enrich theoretical basis. In this paper, the theoretical basis includes cognitive psychologytheory, coding theory, cognitive neuroscience theory, cognitive load theory, constructivist theoryand ecological psychology theory.3. This paper provides a new definition of channel and stage, presents the integral frame ofmodel. Then, completely analyzes the cognitive model of “P-S-K” three-channel multimedialearning. In this paper, multimedia learning cognitive model includes three channels: PerceptualProcessing channel, Semantic processing channel and Kinesthetic processing channel; four stages:environment support stage, sensory memory stage, working memory stage and long-term memorystage; five processes: information presentation, information acquisition and selection, informationprocessing, information storage, information extraction and Feedback.4. In order to make a further checkout of the model, in the fifth chapter, the experiment resultshows that the learning effect of Three-channel is better than that of Dual–channel on principleand rule in inquiry learning.
