| Political trust is the citizen’ faith in political system in a certain political and socialcondition.It is formed in the interactive process between citizens and political system.Itcontains three hierarchies in descent,that is,the political trust of constitution andpolitical community,the political trust of government,the political trust of publicservants.The accumulation of political trust in public servants is good for improving thelevel of political trust of government and constitution.After evaluating the governmentperformance rationally, the citizen decides whether he will provide political trust to thepolitical system.Political trust is constrained by the citizen’s personal quality.At thesame time,it is shaped by political culture in the country.Political trust contributes to thestability of political system and reduces the cost of policy.In the period from the foundation of the People’s Republic of China to the Reformand Opening-up, the situation of political trust presents the following features:thelevel of political trust of constitution and political community is high;the level ofpolitical trust of public servants is unstable;the foundation of political trust is leaderworship; the lack of citizen’s rationality;political distrust can’t be expressedpublicly.After the Reform and Opening-up policy,the situation of political trustpresents the following characteristics:the level of political trust of constitution andpolitical community fluctuates,but still keeps high; serious run-off of political trust ofpublic servants; the level of political trust of central government is higher thangross-root government; political trust is more diversified and private;China is faced withthe increasing pressure of political distrust.Comparing the situation of political trust before the Reform and Opening-up withthe situation after the Reform and Opening-up, we can find that there is an obvioustendency from personality trust to constitution trust. It enlightens us the necessity oftaking the following steps to reconstruct the political trust in china：keeping the balance between political trust and political distrust；utilizing positive influence of china’straditional political culture；improving qualities of the public servants；enhancingcitizens’ ability to identify. |
