| Since the Third Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party, our country has entered a new age of overall reform and openness which has been enhancing the development of our society and the comprehensive national power of our country. Meanwhile, a serious of changes happened within our social classes. These changes bring various opportunities together with challenges to the Party construction. The present study is just based on such a background.This thesis takes sociology related knowledge as theoretical background, Marxism Party Construction Theory as guidance, and Maxis and Engels’dialectical materialism as methodology to analyze the new changes of social classes in our country after reform and openness, and their dual influences on the Party construction, and then the author proposes some corresponding measures. This thesis is made up of five chapters which can be divided into three parts:introduction, main body text and conclusion.The first chapter is about introductory theory. It illustrates the purpose and significance of the present study, reviews previous studies and also introduces the research methods of the present study.Chapter two first defines the connotation of some related concepts, including social classes, social stratum and Party construction, and then introduces theoretical basis of the present study.Chapter three briefly reviews social class and stratum structure in new China before reform and opening up policy was carried out. Then it elaborates new changes in social stratum after reform and openness. The elaboration is carried out from the following aspects, including components and structural characteristics of the social stratum in China, income gap within the working class, benefit based relationship among different social classes, and fluidity of social stratum members. This chapter is logic starting point of the present study.The fourth part of the thesis is divided into two aspects. Firstly, it explains the important chances that China’s social changes bring to the party construction. Those chances can be listed as follows:advancing the development of the guiding ideology of the party construction, promoting the innovation of the party’s organization construction and the party’s political system construction as well as the way of governance, which helps to strengthen the economic and political base construction as well as the formation of new style within the party. Secondly, China’s new social class changes also cause the following risks for party construction, such as increasing the difficulty of the party’s ideological construction and the level of organization construction, adding difficulties to the party’s style construction and the party’s anti-corruption construction, influencing the level of the party’s class foundation and advanced construction as well as administrational capability construction.The fifth part focus on the measures to avoid the risks that brought by China’s social changes so as to strengthening the party’s advanced construction and the ability of administrational construction. Such as improving the credibility and need of Marxism, strengthening the party’s ideological and party’s ruling foundation construction, advancing the party’s ability of education and supervision towards its members, strengthening the party’s style construction and the measures to perfect the organization construction under new circumstances, broadening the access for more people to participate in the political life, strengthening the party’s system construction and explore new measures to improve the party’s anti-corruption construction, maintaining and broadening the party’s class foundation.
