Nowadays.ideological and political education faces severe challenges, the present situation is not optimistic. How to deal with the problem? How to find a new way? It is the inevitable way for the development of ideological and political education. In this time it is good for concluding the status quo. analyzing in-depth, finding a way out. and it is a good way to refer to traditional culture."Harmony" thought is the essence of traditional Chinese culture. As values and methodology its characterization tackles the problem of peace, integration and harmonization of relationship. In the course of ideological and political education, inheritance, absorption, and promotion of Chinese traditional culture of the "harmony" thought discovered and its value and function of ideological and political education in the practice is great theoretical and practical significance.Traditional Chinese culture is a long history, extensive and profound."Harmony" thought is the essence of traditional Chinese culture. It is our ancestor inheritance from the rich heritage and the crystallization of history."Harmony" thought has gone through hardships, after thousands of years of deduction and solution, deepen into the ideologies and daily behaviors and leaked into the community in all areas of political, economic, and spiritual life.Nowadays social and historical conditions, the value systems and life have undergone a tremendous change of ideological and political work faced with new challenges and crises. It requires the practice of ideological and political education in the new period. It must be inheritance and extension of Chinese traditional culture in particular. The ideological and political educators awarded of the current status quo and problems and focused on "harmony" thought. The practical combination of ideological and political education enhanced the actual effect of ideological and political education to achieve comprehensive innovation. Therefore.
