In the21stcentury, the young generation after80s and90s begin to serve in thearmy, and gradually become important components of the group to support nationaldefense and military construction. As special social members of particular historicalperiod, they have advantages and problems of their own. Under such circumstance, itis imperative to take pertinent ideological and political education of them. With an eyeto the ideological character of young army men as well as the misunderstanding andproblems of ideological and political education in grass-root units at present, the thesisactively probes on means to improve the ideological and political education of youngofficers and soldiers in grass-root units in order to make them bring their superiorityinto full play and eliminates adverse effect of negative factors. Thus, they can makegreat achievements in the army and contribute more to the national defense andmilitary construction.There are mainly four parts in the thesis:In the first part, the author elaborates the significance, purpose, domestic researchstatus of the subject, as well as the means and innovative points of the research.Education of young officers and soldiers in grass-root units meet the requirements of<The Chinese People’s Liberation Army Political Work Regulation>. Further more, itwill benefit the young army men in character shaping and growth progress in thecoming future. Especially, it will help them making decision reasonably after theybecome leaders tomorrow. Domestic research on the subject mainly focuses on youtheducation and army men education. Military political work and youth education workresearchers have discussed the political education theory from a general point of view,and further improved the research of education measures. What’s more, they putmental and paschal factors into their research too. The thesis has three innovativepoints: choosing special object, combining questionnaire and interview, puttingforward propose from the standing point of military regulation and pedagogy, whichmake the proposal effectible and maneuverable.In the second one, the author elaborates the necessity to improve the ideological and political education of young officers and soldiers in grass-root units. Specifically,it is necessary to analyze the specificity of young army men and the ideologicalproblem they had. In order to make the argumentation more pertinent and persuadable,the author have made questionnaire through500youth army men and interviewed partof them. The outstanding feature of young army men in grass-root units can begeneralized as follow: lacking of mental care, but having forceful character, and nothaving enough living experience, psychological quality is not strong enough, andhaving diverse ideal, not simple-minded any more, and having complex growingstories, as well as multi variant value orientation. The outward manifestations of theirideological problem are opening ideological concept, realistic ideal, weakened sense ofmission, and illegible sense of value.In the third part, the author introduces the circumstance which grass-root units’ideological and political education confronted with and the problem they had. Politicaleducation is the most basic and regular work of grass-root units and the task is reallyheavy. The mission of army in new historic period provides the political education newsubjects. Learning and practicing new theory of the Party give political education newtask. Widened individual difference of young army men requires political workersclearly distinguish level of their teaching objects. Gradually emerging psychologicalproblems of army men bring forward new challenge. Under such circumstance, there ismisunderstanding of ideological and political education in the military: treatingbombastic as high-principled, dealing with different problems in the same way, treatinginstruct and guide as education and always expounding mechanically. Ideological andpolitical education in grass-root units now face with the following problems: plans arenot carried out well, and traditional teaching methods are too monotonous, and theeducation lack of pertinence, and the teaching objects to be divided into differentlevels, the content and knowledge of education needs to be improved, and the politicalworkers’ exemplary effect are not enough.In the last part, the author proposes his own suggestion to solve these problemsand improve ideological and political education of young officers and soldiers ingrass-root units. Specifically, eliminating Pharisaism and enhancing actual effect, anddistinguish teaching objects and enhancing pertinence, and innovating teachingmethods and embodying feature of the era, and enlarging the field of education andincrease the practicing effect. What’s more, we must obey the rules and regulations, and provide the youths with favorable developing environment, and further advancesthe teaching mode, set up people-oriented education idea, and focus on the role ofpositive guide, and increase the political quality of young army men in grass-root units.We should also improve psychology education by psycho consulting, setting upcommunicating channel, and researching of psychology education contents andmethods.
