As an important achievement of cadre and personnel system reform, theentrance examination system of Chinese public servant has formed a relativelycomplete management system with Chinese characteristics after10years ofexploration and development. It has played a positive role, which in the selection ofpersonnel,and adjusting the personnel structure has played a positive role,providedan important guarantee for China’s construction of high-quality civil service. It can besaid that since its implementation of the results the achievement is significant. But atthe same time, we should also be clear that the entrance examination system inChina still has many problems and inadequacies in the implementation process,which is worth further exploration and research.The full text is divided into three parts. The first chapter is a general overview ofthe examination system in China. It made a definition of public servants, publicservants system and examination system,which made it clear. What’s the meaning ofthe examination system, Secondly, through the imperial examination systemrationality and modern Western civil service system for reference, revealing thesource of the theory of China’s civil service examination system. Finally, itaddressed the civil service examination system in China to the formation anddevelopment experience in several stages, namely, infancy, formation,development period. The second chapter describes the current situation of China’scivil service examination system. It listed a lot of achievements on test mode,mechanisms regulation of the examination system and the implementation. Besides itmade a generalization at this stage in which there are still some problems, includinglack of practical operational level, system defects, as well as the drawback of legalsystem; the causes of the problems of civil service examination system in China hasbeen researched from three aspects of political, cultural, economic analysis. Thethird chapter is the practical problems faced by our civil service examination systemstarting. It came up with a few solutions to this problem. First,strengthen theconstruction of the examination system, including the establishment of a relativelyindependent civil service management and the examination bodies to establish the system of grading and classification of Examining and Employing Officials.Secondly, from legal perspective to consider, we should accelerate theestablishment of supporting laws and regulations and institutional system and thesecond is to improve laws and oversight mechanisms. Finally, starting from the setto apply standards and reform the examination the contents of two examinations inrecruitment for the ways and means to further improve.
