Based on the unique advantages of network technology and information technology, blog has broken through space-time boundary, greatly enhanced the depth and width of political information dissemination, expanded the teaching channel of political skills and became an effective media of the political culture’s popularity and continuation. The blog’s "zero entry threshold", personal characteristic and hyperlink technique have greatly weakened the function of the traditional "gatekeeper", established an equal、open and multidimensional exchange platform, and became an effective channel of the practice of citizen’s supervision power. With its opening and interactive features, blog produced autonomous rational communicative subjects in public domain, greatly saved the cost of interpersonal communication and political participation in public domain, built ideal exchange place of public opinion and showed the potential of constructing network public domain.The political function of the blog has been used effectively and achieved good results in foreign countries, especially in United States.However, the blog’s function in our country’s political field has been hindered based on the following reasons:blog’s political functions have not yet received the relevant government department’s enough attention, government department’s management of the blog is not scientific enough,"grassroots" blog’s political function has not yet play out.
