The people’s mediation system is a legal system with Chinese chartercters. It is the Confucian outcome "with suit". As a way to resovle current disputes, the people’s mediation has been got more and more attention in current China with sharply rising in claims. It’s operation conforms to China’s traditional culture, reflecting the advantages of "local resources". At the meantime, it should be noted that although "the people’s mediation law" is carried out in January 1,2011, but compared with the long history of mediation in Chian, There are still many problems about the people’s mediation system such as the inaccurate of the value orientation, the scope of the mediation is uncertain, the proceduation is non-standard, the legal effect of the mediation agreement is contempted, the organization construction should be improved. So it is essential to put forward suggestions on improving the people’s mediation on the base of the study on the people’s mediation system.This paper is totally divided into four parts to analyze:The first chapter emphasizes on introducing the people’s mediation and the concept, the character, the law position, the historical evolutionand the organization form of the people’s mediation system, pointing out the significant position of the people’s mediation system on resolving our country’s disputes.The second chapter elaborate the value and influence of the perfecting on the people’s mediation system from five parts. Highlighting the people’s mediation’s value on eliminating disputes by communication, consulting and interlocution.The third chapter elaborates and analyzes the current promblems of the people’s mediation in our country.The fourth chapter puts forward the orientation of the improvement of our country’s people’s mediation from four parts as "The improvement of the standardized construction", "The improvement of the professional construction", "The improvement of the security system" and "Trying the new ways to resolve disputes by the people’s mediation", according to the second and the third chapter.
