Beijing City Diplomacy Practice Research

Beijing foreigh exchanging is booming since Beijing establishing itsdevelopment goal of building a world city. But reaserch on city diplomacy theory andBeijing city diplomacy experience is increasing accordingly. Therefore, the author ofthis thisis make a research on Beijing city diplomacy, adopting methods of systematicanalysis, document analytical and sample analytic.Beijing city diplomacy practices develops fastly since new China was set up. Atthe very beginning, Beijign city diplomatic institution is small, with few staff andsimple authority of office. It mainly execurite central government’s policy anddecision. After the reform and opening-up, its authority was enlarged andenhanced,bring it to the stage of coordinating central government.In1997, the conceptof "Capital Economy" was brought up. Beijing then complementing centralgovernment’s diplomacy according to its own interest. The strategic goal of "WorldCity" was brought up in2005. Beijing has established its own development stategy,leading a way of "Win-Win" mode with central government’s diplomacy.Though great achievements was gained by Beijing in city diplomacy, Beijinggovernment still has some problems to be solve. For this reason, the author of thisarticle put forward some recomendations, to deepen and enlarge Beijing citydiplomacy’s influences, and better serve central government’s diplomacy.
