The Enlightment For China Soft Power Development From The Recongnition Of The Identity Of Thailand Chinese

Chinese overseas is important human resources of China’s peaceful development.They had played the important role in China’s economic development and become thedriving force of China to the world past and future.In order to revelation China’s soft power construction, this paper has studied theChinese society in Thailand and the interaction between the Chinese overseas inThailand and China. We found that the Chinese society in Thailand is existence, andthat Chinese overseas in Thailand has the properties of the three roles, namely, the“traditional” and the “adaptive” and “modern”. The Chinese overseas are not"assimilation" but take the initiative to integrate into Thai society.We found that Chinese overseas and China do not form a “collective identity”in the process of interaction between Chinese overseas and China. The reason for thisis that Chinese overseas and China did not construct or not in accordance with theorder of construction of the important variables of the “collective identity”, namely:economic interdependence, political constraints, cultural homogeneity and commondestiny.The revelation of China’s soft power has two aspects: on the one hand, theidentity of Chinese overseas in Thailand is not the country identity based on politicalnorms, but the class identity based on economic norms. On the other hand, the lack ofvariable factors of “collective identity” will lead to the “missing” of “collectiveidentity” between Chinese overseas and China, and that Chinese overseas and Chinawill all damage if the main variables of the "collective identity" did not follow acertain order to construct.
