This paper is based on western highland’s specific research focused on Shaanxi Opera andnorthern Shaanxi’ folk songs, aiming to support the argument of this paper through a number ofdemonstrations--Shaanxi Opera and northern Shaanxi’ folk songs share internal connections interms of origin, heritage, spread and other aspects. That’s also the correlation this paperdescribing, which is presented in the form of singing.The argument of this article is the origin,style and characteristic of the Shaanxi Opera and northern Shaanxi folk songs. Through theresearch of music melody characteristics and law of motion, this paper is more scientific andconvincing. This paper used the chapter layered structure to prove the internal and correlation.Thousands of years of Chinese civilization gave birth to many national folk forms. Thenational folk forms have played an extremely important role in the history of the Chinese nation.Each a chapter of history of the Chinese civilization has been deeply imprinted by folk art, whileShaanxi Opera and northern Shaanxi folk songs undoubtedly become oldest and the mostglamorous part among all folk arts.They haven been put into the national intangible culturalheritage protection list by the effective protection. However, their protection and inheritance stillhave some problems. Especially there are certain vacancies and biased theoretical studies. Fewstudied the vocal music theorists on Shaanxi Opera and northern Shaanxi folk songs correlation.To study the Shaanxi Opera and northern Shaanxi folk artistic value we can’t ignore the internalconnections.Only with the correlation can we balance the artistic rule, and thus enable us torationally and objectively understand art forms for better applying. With further presentation bysinging and other practice, the features will be fully developed and thus contribute more tonational vocal music industry. With distinquished features, the national folk forms can stand highamong other art forms, shining brightly and treasured just like Greek myths.
