Research On Bai Bingquan’s Teaching Ar Of Northern Shaanxi Folk Songs

Bai Bingquan is a Chinese northern Shaanxi folk song singer, Shaanxi folk songsand ethnic vocal music educator. From singing folk songs to teaching folk songs, fromsingers to vocal music educator, from practice to theory, Bai Bingquan always takes aroad of northern Shaanxi folk songs in her over60years’ art career. Through her tirelessexploration and unremitting study Bai Bingquan has properly combined vocal musictheory with the singing art of northern Shaanxi folk songs, and she scientifically solvesthe contradictions in the method and the style of Northern Shaanxi folk songs. She makesthe singing style become more systematic, theoretical and scientific. Bai Bingquancreates a teaching road that is “not only having scientific singing method but also havingrich characteristics”, which has become a successful teaching example of northernShaanxi folk songs.After researching Bai Bingquan’s teaching ideas, teaching content and teachingmethods, this paper aims at exploring and summarizing her valuable experience so as tobetter guide our future northern Shaanxi folk songs teaching, to cultivate more northernShaanxi folk song singers and to contribute to the inheritance and development ofnorthern Shaanxi folk songs. Meanwhile, the reason why the author chooses BaiBingQuan’s teaching art as her research is to cause more people to focus on thedevelopment of northern Shaanxi folk songs and to make more institutions to concernabout folk songs’ teaching. The author tries to make a little contribution to thedevelopment, protection and propagate of our traditional folk songs.
