Preposition, as one type of Chinese functional words, have unique value and playa significant role in Chinese grammar system. Preposition are highly used in dailycommunications activities, while their abstract grammatical meanings and flexibleusages, increase the difficulty in learning preposition for Chinese learners, and makeChinese preposition teaching become quite important part of Chinese grammarteaching system. Based on the analysis of amount of the language corpus ininterlanguage corpus, we summarize, classify and analyze the preposition errors underthe guidance of the basic principles of Second Language Acquisition(SLA). Thisessay also illustrated a few prepositions which are often used and as well as errorsoccur frequently. On the base of error-analysis, we discussed the causes of theseerrors, pointed out the influence of mother tongue, the influence of the limitedmastered target language and the mistakes of teaching.We proposed our suggestions on Chinese preposition teaching as a secondlanguage on the basis of the above-mentioned analysis, such as t know the learningdifficulty of learners’, arrange curriculum and textbook in a reasonable way., and doresearch in view of teaching Chinese as a second language. We hope this analysiscan improve the teaching effects and raise the learning efficiency of leaners fromdifferent first language backgrounds.
