Speech And The Current Political Situation

This thesis takes Guangzhou Republic Daily(1923-1927) as a research object, aiming at finding out the interaction between the newspaper editorials and state situation at that time by using text analysis and content analysis. The editorials of Guangzhou Republic Daily(1923-1927) reflected and affected current state situation mainly from three aspects: first, exposing China’s difficult situation both in state construction and diplomacy, and calling on civilians to support National Revolution; second, proposing strategies on solving the problems in revolution and social reform; third, taking part in the construction of Kuomindang actively. This thesis holds the opinion that the interaction between newspaper editorials and state situation at that time lies in four aspects:first, editorials reflect the state situation; second, editorials guide the state situation; third, the state situation restricts editorials writing; forth, the state situation enriches editorials. In a word, editorials "factuality" and situation "factuality" are the two sides of society "factuality". Editorial factuality’s departing and deriving from situation "factuality" is the process of media’s building of idealized society. Editorials on Guangzhou Republic Daily(1923-1927), which features in enclosing the theme of times conspicuously, focusing on social hot spots and enhancing the skills of analysis and argument, is of great realistic significance to current editorials writing.
