"respectively" And "separate" Perspective Study

Modern Chinese "fen bie"(分别) and "fen tou"(分头) as a pair of synonyms manner adverbs, sometimes can be generic, but two words still exist many differences which have not been studied. We take the methods that combined the form and the meaning, the statistics and the analysis to do a detailed study. Draw on the basis of previous studies exploring and analyzing "fen bie" and "fen tou" expressed by the semantic, syntactic and pragmatic features.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the article is divided into three parts.Part one:mainly inspecting syntax of "fen bie" and "fen tou". This part mainly depicting and analyzing the syntax distribution, syntax function and the co occurrence condition with other adverbs and other situation adverbs of "fen bie" and "fen tou". By analyzing, we found that "fen bie" and "fen tou" have no difference in syntax distribution, but separately is limitedly used in "shi"(approximately equal to be) sentences. These two words in syntax function are used before verbal structure as adverbial adjunct, while compared "fen bie" with "fen tou", the former can adjunct formal verb with object,"fen bie" and "fen tou" can nearly collocate and co-occur with all the adverbs except degree adverb, but separately can not collocate with negative adverb. In sequence of cooccurence,"fen bie" and "fen tou" are usually used after other adverbs, when they are collocated with other situation adverb, the precedence order is always as the follwing, the kind of will, the kind of occasion, the kind of same and difference, the kind of accordance, the kind of state, the kind of mode.Part two:I investigated the semanteme and pragmatic of "fen bie" and "fen tou" successively. On the ground of predecessor’s paraphrase and study, firstly I made carding and summed up the basic meaning of these two words, and then to analyze the syntax’s sometime characteristic,semamteme role and semanteme direction of "fen bie" and "fen tou". We discovered that "fen tou" is more strict than "fen bie" when collocated with nonunion ingredient including the semanteme role which the nonunion ingredient played. In the end,this paper investigated the specific semantenme of "fen bie" and "fen tou" from types of writing and sentence category distribution. Part three:I investigated the ambiguous meaning of "fen bie". I began with the ambiguous meaning type of "fen bie",intended to find the "fen bie" formulas which maybe have ambiguous meaning, then analyzing its cause,finally this paper is established in both sides-the recipient and utterer to propose means to eliminate ambiguous meaning.
