In1934, Shanghai business men and women groups jointly lunched the" Women’s National Product Year" campaign. By shaping pucblic opinions by medias and lauching different kinds of commercial and social events and activities, organizers wanted women to take on the responsibilities of "saving the country" by pursuing the domestic products. On the other hand, modern women in Shanghi are seen as their focus of concern because of their superficial and unpatriotic behavior.During this year, business circle in Shanghai, the Nanking government and women groups confirmed their focus and agenda respectively based on different social identifications and motivations--division and elaboration of responsibilities, affecting consumer culture in1930s’Shanghai by different means and reshaping the gender relationship. While "Women’s National Product Year" could be seen as one circle of the ideology of "trade war", it could also seen as one inspiring angle of observing what kind of trnsition women liberation underwent in Republican China.
